Paul Knag

Paul Knag created RateZip in late 2007. A former mortgage executive at American Home Mortgage and the founder of online lender MortgageSelect.com, he started RateZip after AHM collapsed in the financial crisis, with one goal that hasn't changed since: bring transparency to shopping for financial products online — mortgages, personal loans, deposit accounts, the numbers in the open.

Today more than 1.5 million people visit RateZip each month. Paul runs Peklava LLC, DBA RateZip, a licensed mortgage broker (NMLS ID 1592292), and built the rate-tracking infrastructure behind RateZip's published indexes, including the Mortgage Demand Index.

He writes about mortgage and home-equity markets and edits RateZip's daily rate reports.
