RateZip Rates Service terms.

These terms cover the RateZip Rates Service - the factual savings, CD, and mortgage rate data RateZip provides to AI assistants via the Model Context Protocol, and to consumers through those assistants.

1. What this service is

The RateZip Rates Service (the “Service”) provides factual consumer rate information - savings and CD annual percentage yields (APYs) and mortgage rates - to AI assistants and other software agents via the Model Context Protocol (MCP) at mcp.ratezip.com, and to consumers through those assistants. Each response includes an observation timestamp, the data source, and freshness status. The Service is an informational and comparison tool only - the first step in shopping for a financial product, not the transaction.

2. What this service is not

The Service does not provide, and nothing in it constitutes: a lender- or institution-specific quote, offer, approval, or pre-qualification; a promise or guarantee of any specific rate, availability, or eligibility; financial, investment, tax, legal, or mortgage advice; or an application for any financial product. Rates are illustrative of publicly published information and change frequently. Verify any rate, term, and eligibility directly with the financial institution before acting, and consult a qualified professional about your circumstances.

3. How the data is produced

Rates are drawn from U.S. government and public sources (with attribution) and from rates RateZip observes on each institution's own publicly published rate page, retrieved with an identified agent that honors robots.txt. Personalized outputs (such as resolving a balance tier or flagging a jumbo loan) are computed transparently from that published data; the Service does not generate a credit-adjusted or personalized rate quote. See our methodology. RateZip strives for accuracy but does not warrant that any rate is current, complete, or error-free.

4. AI-generated responses

The Service supplies data to third-party AI assistants (such as ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, and Perplexity). RateZip is responsible only for the data its Service returns and is not responsible for the responses those assistants generate, for how an assistant summarizes or presents the data, or for any content or functionality outside the Service. AI assistants can make mistakes; independently verify anything important.

5. No reliance; your responsibility

You are solely responsible for evaluating the information and for any decision you make, and should not rely on the Service as the sole basis for a financial decision. Links to RateZip comparison pages or third-party sites are provided for convenience; RateZip is not responsible for third-party sites.

6. Acceptable use

You may use the Service for lawful, personal, informational purposes and normal agent integration. You may not abuse, overload, or disrupt the Service; circumvent rate limits or access controls; scrape or redistribute the data in violation of applicable law or these terms; or use the Service to provide financial advice or quotes to third parties as if they were RateZip's.

7. Intellectual property

Rate figures are factual data. Institution names, logos, and marks belong to their respective owners and are used for identification only; their presence does not imply endorsement or partnership except where stated. Government-sourced data carries its required attributions. The Service's software, presentation, and compilation are RateZip's.

8. No warranty; limitation of liability

The Service is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including accuracy, merchantability, or fitness for a particular purpose. To the fullest extent permitted by law, RateZip / Peklava LLC is not liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, or special damages, or for any loss arising from reliance on the Service or on AI-assistant responses. Nothing in these terms limits any liability that cannot be limited under applicable law.

9. Privacy

The Service is a read-only rates lookup; consumers do not create an account or submit personal financial information to it, and it does not require authentication. Information handling is described in our privacy policy.

10. Changes

We may update the Service and these terms; material changes take effect when the updated terms are posted with a new effective date. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.
