Methodology

State averages come from Insure.com's 2025 rate analysis, based on rate data from Quadrant Information Services — more than 78 million quotes from 170 companies across 34,588 ZIP codes.

The base profile behind the averages: a 40-year-old driver with a clean record and good insurance score, driving 10,000 miles a year. Full coverage means 100/300/100 liability limits with $500 deductibles; liability-only means 50/100/100 limits.

These are averages — your rate will vary based on your age, driving record, credit, vehicle and coverage choices. Averages refreshed July 2026.
