About this role
RateZip is hiring a News & Content Editor to research, write, and maintain the editorial content that helps consumers understand mortgages, savings accounts, CDs, insurance, and personal finance. You will produce clear, accurate, and SEO-aware articles, guides, and comparison pages. This role is ideal for a journalist or editor who wants to work at the intersection of personal finance and technology.
Responsibilities
- -Write and edit articles, guides, and FAQ content for RateZip's consumer audience.
- -Keep existing content accurate and up-to-date as rates, regulations, and products change.
- -Research financial topics and translate complex information into clear, accessible language.
- -Collaborate with the product team to write copy for comparison tools and lead flows.
- -Develop an editorial calendar aligned with seasonal trends and search demand.
- -Optimize content for organic search (keyword research, meta tags, internal linking).
- -Fact-check all published content for regulatory accuracy and compliance.
Qualifications
- -3+ years of experience in editorial, content, or journalism - preferably in personal finance or fintech.
- -Strong writing and editing skills with an eye for clarity and accuracy.
- -Familiarity with SEO fundamentals (keyword research, on-page optimization, search intent).
- -Ability to explain complex financial products in plain language.
- -Self-motivated and comfortable managing your own editorial pipeline.
Nice to have
- -Experience covering mortgages, banking, insurance, or lending.
- -Background in CMS publishing (WordPress, Contentful, or similar).
- -Understanding of E-E-A-T guidelines and YMYL content standards.
- -Comfort reading regulatory disclosures and NMLS documentation.
