Guardian Life Insurance Company of America represents a strong player in the insurance industry, establishing a seat among the Fortune 300. The insurance company first began operations in 1860 in the City of New York, and has grown to be the fourth place player in terms of company size in mutual life insurance industry.

Guardian was relocated from a prior business to an address in Manhattan in 1911 and continued to operate out of the same location for 85 years. The company then expanded facility locations to Pennsylvania, Wisconsin, Washington and Massachusetts. Guardian Insurance has since merged with Berkshire Life Insurance Company of America and bought out RS Investments as well for added market and account expansion.
