About

Regions Financial Corporation is a company serving 15 states throughout the Southern and Midwestern United States. Regions Bank is its subsidiary, and has around 1,500 offices and 1,900 ATMs, which serve approximately 4 million households.

Regions Financial Corporation was founded in Alabama in 1971 as First Alabama Bancshares Inc. It was Alabama’s very first multibank holding company. However, as the company continued to grow and spread, it was renamed in 1994. It started out with 40 bank offices and $543 million in assets, but today Regions Financial Corporation has $125 billion in assets. The company has continued to grow, merging with Union Planters Corporation in 2004 and AmSouth Bancorporation in 2006.

Regions Bank offers checking and savings accounts, money markets, and CDs, as well as credit cards, mortgages, and loans. Regions also offers insurance. In 2004, Regions Insurance Group, Inc. was formed, which offers insurance such as property, health, and life.

If you live in the Southern or Midwestern U.S., consider if Regions is right for you.
