About

Millennium Bank, headquartered in Dallas, Texas, was one of the top community banks in the United States. Millennium was a nationwide preferred SBA lender, and offered business and personal banking with very competitive products. As a community lender, the bank had only one branch location, though it did have over $100 million in assets. Millennium Bank failed on July 2, 2009 during the subprime crisis, and it was sold to the State Bank of Texas with assistance from the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC).

The State Bank of Texas, headquartered in Irving, Texas, was founded in 1987 by a group of Asian Indian investors. Today, State Bank of Texas operates four branch banking locations and has over $600 million in assets. Though the bank does not originate home mortgages, it does offer a variety of personal banking products. These include traditional checking, interest bearing checking accounts, money market accounts, and traditional savings. Additionally, State Bank of Texas offers commercial real estate and hospitality loans.
