DOT Federal Credit Union was founded in 1935 as the Department of Public Works Employees Federal Credit Union. The name was change in later years to the Department of Transportation Federal Credit Union, and ultimately to DOT Federal Credit Union. Now, DOT FCU services other employee groups such as the Poughkeepsie Journal staff, the Hudson River Psychiatric Center employees, several New York State Police troops, the Taconic Developmental Disabilities staff, several US Postal facilities, and others. DOT Federal Credit Union serves residents, workers and students in Dutchess, Ulster and Orange counties of New York State.
